About sys59

Your AI Infrastructure Engineer

We're on a mission to make infrastructure outages a thing of the past — for every team, at any scale.

Our Mission

Empowering Infrastructure Teams

We exist to empower infrastructure teams to move beyond manual operations and monitoring, and use Asama - the world's first AI Infrastructure Engineer as their AI teammate. Asama turns observability into actionability and ensures high reliability, performance and compliance across infrastructure systems.

The Why

Infrastructure has outgrown human capacity

For years, infrastructure engineers have been buried under a mountain of dashboards and alerts. In an effort to avoid vendor lock-in and optimize costs, enterprises have adopted heterogeneous hardware and components. While this reduces supply chain risk, it creates fragmented toolsets and disjointed telemetry. Instead of building for resilience, engineers spend their time manually correlating data from disconnected sources. Critical recovery procedures live only as tribal knowledge in the heads of senior architects or in outdated runbook wikis. Writing and maintaining remediation scripts for every variant of heterogeneous hardware has become a never-ending job. Furthermore, routine maintenance and patching infrastructure vulnerabilities to maintain a desired security posture requires frequent downtime and creates massive communication overhead between the Infrastructure and Product teams. This friction costs companies and the industry at large through engineer burnout and operational stagnation.

The sys59 Way

How we think about infrastructure reliability

01

Remediation First

Detection, Root Cause, and automation are subordinated to one goal: executing safe, repeatable fixes at fleet scale.

02

Deep Stack Context

Asama builds and maintains a unified memory, replacing fragmented telemetry and human stitching with machine-level understanding.

03

Continuous Learning

Asama builds and maintains a unified memory, replacing fragmented telemetry and human stitching with machine-level understanding.

04

Agentic Autonomy

Moving beyond static scripts to dynamic agents that can plan, reason, and adapt execution.

05

Human-Centric NLP

Interacting with complex infrastructure should be as simple as a conversation in plain English.

06

Continuous Compliance as State

Security posture and patch levels are tracked as part of infrastructure state, eliminating episodic audits and P0-driven remediation cycles.

Our Founders

Meet the founders

Sumeet and Jain Johny (JJ) first joined forces over a decade ago at Flipkart (a Walmart subsidiary), where they were responsible for building and scaling the company's infrastructure. As Head of Infrastructure and Lead Architect respectively, they co-architected and scaled Flipkart's Private Cloud — the backbone powering one of the world's most complex e-commerce stacks and its diverse group of companies.

Across their careers at companies like Yahoo, InMobi, and Hike, they experienced first-hand how infrastructure operations break down at scale: fragmented telemetry, slow root-cause discovery, and remediation that relies too heavily on human expertise and brittle automation.

In 2024, they left Flipkart to focus on what they saw as the next inevitable shift in building the AI Infrastructure Engineer. Joined by Manish with a business background, they founded Asama AI.

Asama is the product of systems they've built, failures they've lived through, and operational pain they chose not to accept as inevitable.
